I wrote this song once we had settled back into our lives in Dallas. It was in reflection of our first few dates to how that feeling turns to all-in love. We used to go out to Grapevine lake with a blanket (covers) and be under intense moonlight & talk forever. Also to fool around. It's a real Texas love song, and those elements were all a part of our love story from the beginning. I think the word Alamo in this context means, all or nothing, and as soon as I began loving Sean I was all-in no matter what would come. Also, the Alamo is kind of a place of besiegement and I thought about how during hard times you really need someone who will not matter what just hold you and not let go. This has one of my favorite guitar solos of Sean's of all time!
lyrics
Alamo lover
underneath covers
of moonlight,
come and take it
Late Texas heat
remember defeat?
We're saying, 'Life's what you make it'
In the bluebonnets we we're laying naked
To have and to hold
Oh, my love
hold onto me it might get rough
so let me know, what I already know
that you will hold me close
oh
to have and to hold
oh I'll always hold you
I don't know who told you
you don't deserve love
cause you do love
oh
oh
ooo
Just hold onto me
I won't let go
Just hold onto me
I won't let go
Hold onto me
I won't let go
No, I won't let go
